Bikes: Custom built tourer, custom electric bike, beaters everywhere

Both seem very good value, and will probably do for light touring. I find that for the kind of touring I do, a boot works best. They give lots of support, stick to just about everything and are waterproof. I also have weak ankles, so they keep me from hurting myself.

The pair I'm using right now are from MEC

They are suprisingly easy to get on and off as the laces have pull-aways on the upper boot. I stealth camp, so I have to be ready for anything. If you have support on your tour, or credit card tour, something much lighter might work.
