Not as bad off as I thought.

I have been plagued with injuries and other circumstances that have kept me from getting much training in so far this year. So for the most part I have been doing sporadic intervals on the spinning bike and a short ride here and there.

I just went out for my first real ride today 50 miles and 5000 feet of climbing to see where I was as I have an event ride coming up in about 4 weeks that consist of 82 miles and 6200 feet of climbing . The last time I managed to do my 50 mile ride last November. I remember it being pretty grueling then.

So anyway I got myself out the door about noon. It was a hot day (80's ) around here so I thought great. This is going to suck big time .. no real training time and lots of heat, but it didnt suck!

The whole ride felt good and I cut 5 minutes off my time from last year to boot. Apparently those intervals did me more good than I thought. So I am pretty happy that I will be ready for my upcoming ride. That is if enough of the snow up there melts in time.
