Alright, I'm looking into buying a new bike in the $300-400 range. I went to an LBS today and he only carries two brands. He has Jamis and Marin bikes.

I talked to the guy (who is also the mechanic) for a while about what I was looking for and he suggested the Jamis Ranger SX or the Jamis Cross Country 1.0. He had a new one still in the box that he's going to build for me so I can ride it next week.

Do you guys have any comments on these bikes?
