Anyone mount a compass on their bars?

Sometimes I find myself peering at a trail map, dizzy from lack of oxygen as my heart tries in vain to pump mollassas thick blood through my tired body, wondering where the heck I am. Sometimes it's useful to know what direction I'm pointed so I've started carying a small compass, but it's a pain to get it out of the saddle bag so I don't use it often. What I'd really like is a little compass mounted to my handle bars, and I've looked at some compasses built for ocean kayaking but they're all too big (and don't exactly look handle bar friendly). Does anyone know if they make a handlebar mount compass? I don't need the utmost in accuracy, just enough to know whether I'm pointed east or west on cloudy days.
