Bikes: Claud Butler Dalesman, Raleigh racer, EZFold folder.

The axle is the same length on both sides, which is unusual. I have Sheldon Browns site linked to my own site thanks. It is a great site and gives lots of tips. But I was unable to loosen the cones on my old Raleigh. didn't have the correct tools so tried to use a screwdriver to knock loosen them, but no use.
It always looks easier in the manuals :-)
Anyway. I have fixed the bottom bracket on my Claud Butler. Both bikes are 25 years old so may be a bit different to the new ones. The nut on the drives side unwinds to the left, but the cone and lock ring to the right.
