I guess one point that comes up, and I have heard on other posts, is that at times it is very difficult to tell where the creaking was coming from. I thought for sure the creaking was related to my headset or handlebars.

A few months back I thought I had a creaky bottom bracket but then solved the problem by oiling the undercarriage of my saddle.
