And it's called a Geo Metro. Three cylinders, five speeds, peppy around town, will actually carry two in comfort and an additional two without their thinking that the two sitting up front hate them. The one I had did an easy 42+ in town, 50 on the highway. I wish my ex- hadn't taken it with her. I've been looking for another, but everything I've found has been trashed from age.

I can't see all that extra weight from airbags, etc. The way I figure, as I'm willing to ride a bicycle, scooter or motorcycle 85% of my commuting, without undue worry about the traffic around me (40 years of riding in traffic has taught me something), then going to a state of the art mid-90's subcompact puts me in the equivalent of a Sherman Tank by comparison.

I'd rather have the gas mileage than the airbags.
