I'm trying to understand where you are coming from. I understand you're saying there's an opertunity cost to cycling for many, which is true and each must decide if bike commuting makes sense for them. but your original post states that the COST of riding to work is going up... because you got a new job, across the street from your old that pays hourly. Does your new job come up with a new addition to your family? How is your cost, financial or otherwise, increasing with your new job?

Not trying to be a pain, just trying to understand
