'73 Sports Tourer FD

Well, thanks to everyone here on C&V's advice, I've got the Sports Tourer almost ready to roll. Cleaning of parts, re-painting and new decals are complete, and it now has wider bars, a Sugino triple crank from Noah Scape, and SunTour indexed stem shifters from pastorbob --- thanks guys!

Now the LBS mechanic is telling me I will need a different FD to accomodate the 48-38-28 triple, and that it needs to be a vintage 8-speed (or less) Triple capable FD, due to the chain width for my 5-speed freewheel being wider. Or something like that...

Anyone know what different brands/models of FD will work? My downtube clamp size is 1-1/8 inch, and according to the Harris site, the cable routing from the lower stop on the downtube is unique, neither being a "bottom" nor "top" pull.

Thanks,

John
