As a disreputable source (working at a shop) I will throw in that a major manufacturer will offer more bang for the buck than a boutique brand. (duh) Going a step farther, looking at a larger company like Giant who does a lot of manufacturing for other major companies rather than farming out their own work will save you more cash. Seriously any of the big 3 or 4 manufacturers will offer good value for the money, but I really would take a serious look at Giant's offerings. (shill over)
