For a bike with old school over-the-bottom bracket gear cable routing, one does not necessarily need a front derailleur with a cable housing stop. On Capo #1, I simply routed a piece of housing from the downtube-mounted cable stop under the BB shell, leaving the other end loose. Since the housing is acting merely as a guide and not as a compression agent, it works like a champ.
