Well hi guys, (and gals)
I just want to thank you guys for answering my questions when they came up and being so darn inspirational! It's been a week since I've started and I feel like it's been a very busy week. I've received a free bike (hard rock '90) and bought a giant acapulco (1993) both of which have their fair share of problems but, they're on the way being nursed to health. (Hard rock's front derailleur is fubar... I cannot get the Giant's back tire off because i don't have the proper size wrench and i'm broke as a joke)
But, I had a good 31 mile first week on the hard rock using only the smallest front sprocket.
But, more importantly... I feel good/better.
Next on my agenda -
Get a Job
Get A Helmet
Get a wrench/socket wrench kit
Get some biking pants
Get a scale so I can measure/see weight loss
Get the bikes back to health
40 Miles Next Week
Long term - Get a road bike... or at least some good slicks for my mtbs.
Once again, Thanks to all who contribute/make up these forums.

(p.s. I noticed that the front cassette is also oval instead of round... is this a particularly bad thing, or can it be ignored? heh)
