I believe that Ryon is expressing an interest in cycling that is a common misconception. I can't tell you how many time people ask me if I "race" Rosarito-Ensenada or the Solvang Century. If you look at the Rosarito-Ensenada web site, the first thing is states under the title of the ride is "Fun Bicycle Ride."

So, to answer Ryon's question, there are a lot of fun and sometimes challenging organized rides in SoCal and NorCal. A great resource to find out more about these RIDES is the Western States Bicycle Ride Calendar.
