The Western States ride calendar is a great place to start. An event coming up in August that is worth doing is the Cool Breeze out of Ventura. Great ride, lovely area to cruise along through and a great group doing the ride. Also two rides in September to consider - the Lighthouse out starting in SLO and going up to Pietra Blanco Lighthouse and the Sierra Century out of Mammoth. And lastly, a great ride that gets little support is the Spooktacular out of Bakersfield in October.

I like supporting local bike clubs and their charities. Speaking of that, there is also the Amtrak Century sponsored by the OC Wheelman in September.
