The color on the truck looks deeper because it's been clear coated, the old Schwinns were not clear coated. Here is the process for a candy paint job:

1) Primer.
2) Base coat (I'm going to use silver metalic).
3) Candy color coat (clear with candy dye added).
4) Decals.
5) Clear coat.
