I have an older Stronglight 42/52 crankset now. I was thinking about swapping it out for a Campagnolo 9sp Veloce Crankset 39/53. Besides the smaller chainwheel, will there be a difference in the ride with the Campy set? Am I just better off staying with the Stronglight set?

Another thing I was wondering about is the size of the steer tube. I measured mine at 1 1/8 inches, that's just the tube, not the headset. Are headsets measured by the size of the steer tube? If I wanted to get a threadless fork, can I fit one onto my bike?
