It looks like the crank was a Tourney. The DX-2000 was an entry level race bike rather than a sport bike. Better quality parts than the Selecta level.
I have a Selecta crank & yes that is a piece of work. The guy that sold it to me cut the bottom bracket from the frame with a hack saw rather than try to take it apart. In fairness i haven't tried ether.
