Clearcoat bubbles

Hey all,

I have a Specialized Roubaix..comp..2006. Last year I had a little chip that I scratched with my fingernail, and it turned into about a 1/2 inch circular spot of clearcoat chipped off. The other day while mounting my bike on the roof rack, I noticed a little bubble under the finish on the seatstay that I'm assuming is eventually going to break open and clearcoat will chip away.

Is this common with carbon bikes...defect in manufacturing finish..no big deal or what? I fixed the first one with some clear nail polish and it looks okay..but don't want my whole frame to be refinished with nail polish..it'll add too much weight.

Anyone else have this happen and if so how did you handle it.

Thanks in advance.
