Bikes: Trek 830 18" frame => Mavic X517 ceramic rims | XT RD | XTR FD | LX Canti's | SRAM Atacck shifters | SRAM SG850 11-30 Casette | Vetta Transverse AT saddle

new rear rim 80 miles, fine yesterday, vibration today, any ideas?

I installed a Mavic X517 32 Spoke rim with LX (Parallax110) Hubs, about a month or so ago on a 1993 Trek 830. The wheels where built by Wheelsmith.

I currently run mainly paved trails with a Panaracer Smoke tire at 50 PSI. Everything has been running fine and smooth (well for knobbies) for 80 miles now. On my ride yesterday it was fine, and I don't recall hitting anything. On my ride today and the whole way out and the whole way home there is a pretty bad vibration coming from the rear.

I don't have a truing stand, but when I lift the bike and watch the wheel it looks true to me, I don't notice any kindle of wobble. There is no play in the wheel, the tire is at pressure, looking at tire I don't see anything in it. The spokes feel tight

Any other ideas? The only other thing is the rim sat for quit a few years in the box before installation, could the hub be dry?
