selfish idiots. this goes beyond protest, this is an act of stupidity. yea, i get the point of a CM ride, to alert drivers of bikers as traffic. but bikes dont belong on the ****ing freeway.
and i've seen the other freeway rides. i get the point of it, weaving past cars going 10mph. yea, it's funny to be sitting in your car in traffic and kids whiz past you on bicycles. i get that. but to intentionally add to delay? dont say it wasn't intentional. common sense says it would have ended that way.
I love the original concept of Critical Mass but I think the execution of it has failed. They aren't building awareness what so ever, they are just making motorists more pissed at cyclists. Personally I think CM is making it worse for us. To intentionally cause traffic to make a point is just counter productive. I also think part of the problem are the cyclists themselves. I'm a motorist as well as a cyclist and when I'm driving I always look out for people on bikes since I know how it feels to be out there. But a lot of times, especially here in NYC, bike riders just ignore the rules of the road and deliberately out themselves in bad situations. You know how many times some dude cuts me off on his bike and I almost nail him? Granted, a lot of motorists are nuts and could careless about people on bikes and this is the main issue, but if we want things to change the bikers have to start with themselves.

CM is just making this worse. At least that's how I see it.
