The word is that a moderate amount of coffee can stimulate fat burning but if you are having adverse reactions then steer clear and enjoy your ride.

Morning coffee is just a habit for me so I am not sure it should be considered purposeful.

Other issues to consider are the diuretic affect of caffeine and the possible dehydration that could follow.
