I used a ramped 36 for a while, the non ramp 'feels' better. Some mid ramp rings are lighter guage Alu than the big, the small on the triple is often steel. I swear I could feel it flex, also, a mono ring gets constant use, needs to be a HQ alloy, well shaped teeth.
