Bikes: KHS Urban-Xpress

I'm 52

1. What type of bikes do 50+ folks ride?

My current bike is a KHS Urban-Xpress I purchased in mid-March. It's a GREAT bike! At some point I would like to buy a carbon road bike, again, probably a KHS Flite 720.

2. Do you take any special supplements/vitamins/minerals as you have grown older?

Multi-Vitamins

3. How much do you feel you have "slowed down" if any?

Not much, but recovery takes a bit longer, and I'm not as nimble as I used to be. I hope to reverse this with the new TotalGym XLS I received a couple of weeks ago.

4. How long have you been biking? New, around a while, biked all your life?

In the early 70's I rode a Schwinn Continental to school and around town before I owned a car. In the late 80's I road a Specialized RockHopper and in the early 90's I rode a Trek carbon bike, I can't remember the model, for the MS150 a couple a years. I laid off biking after that until this past March when I purchased my KHS Urban-Xpress.

5. What type of biking do you do? Long rides, touring, short rec rides, commute, tour, race?

I generally ride around town late at night to avoid traffic. I try to do 5 - 10 miles per ride. Since I don't own a car my bike is my basic transportation. I would love to get outside the city and ride country roads like I used to do.

6. How often do you bike? Your approximate annual mileage?

I try to ride 4-5 times a week. At this point I don't know my annual mileage, but my computer shows 294 miles.

7. Do you do any other type of physical activities - weight lifting, skiing, running, etc.?

From the early 80's until the mid-90's I worked out 3 times a week. I recently bought a TotalGym XLS and hope I can get back into the shape I was in back then.
