Imagine you could get quite alot in terms of scrap value, but it seems like the people that do this offer outrageously low rates - I've seen $25 to $100 offered. I'm sure it takes plenty of work to refine the valuables out of the car, but it seems like these guys just low ball you. I imagine there is tons of copper wire in there, and while some of the precious metals have fallen in value, for a while the catalytic converters were worth well over 500 dollars if you extracted the precious metals from it. We actually had a problem in this area with theives cutting them off cars at night for a while.
