The SL is still available in 2008 that pretty red frame or Gerolsteiner blue/black. It's at a much lower price point than the SL2. ....and that is why the SL2 has trickled down mid-year into a Pro level frame, for $600 more than the SL. Note that the 2008 SL2 Pro and the 2008 SL are both 10r carbon, while the S-works SL2 is now 11r. Head spinning yet?
I hated the red color when I first saw it in the catalogs and in person, but ordered it anyway, and it has really grown on me. Note that although it's not on the website, the 2008 SL is still available in last year's colors, or something very similar, as several people I know have gotten them as replacement frames.
The SL2 Pro was an interesting development... I remember arguing with someone when it came out because I hadn't heard of it yet

. It apparently uses the SL's older 10r layup, but the new IS construction instead of Az1.
