Tell me about your first wheel-build
I've stripped down bikes, rebuilt them, and re-rebuilt them. Thanks to this forum, Sheldon Brown, and the Park Tools website, I've learned how to pretty much do everything on a bike.
Except one thing: build my own wheels.
Now I'd like to tackle that too. Tell me about your first wheel build: Rims, hubs, nipples, spokes? Cross patterns, radial? Truing stands? Spoke calculators?
What went wrong? What went right? Was it worth it?
