I am Speechless.

Yesterday my wife was scratched by a bus on a really busy street in bumper to bumper traffic, and had our first major scene during bicycle commuting. Tried to stop the bus, bus wouldn't stop. Put the bike in front of bus so he couldn't run away, took the details, called the cops. Cops made a mockery of us saying as long as there is no "accident" he can't do anything. So he would need to see a broken hand or a leg so that he can take some action. A "slight touch" cannot be considered accident. And pretty much refused to acknowledge the "safe passing" clause of the law.

My wife was pretty shaken up by the incident, and so was I Reported the details to the transit authority, and will do everything we can to see that appropriate action is taken against the driver !

And then today I come to my desk, and read this news ! Just very upsetting ....
