I went for a ride the other morning, 12.5 miles with a 1000’ of climbing. The ride itself was short and easy except for the long climbs. My legs were burning at the top of each climb.

Here is a little bit about me. I’m 5’ 8” 215 lbs. I have lost 6 lbs in the past 2 months so I am working on losing weight. I have ridden 370 miles so far this season but I only started cycling at the very end of last season. My bike is a Giant OCR 3.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.
I have not read all the pages on this thread but given your body size, and number of miles ridden, I think some gym work to build more strength and riding on average 200 miles a week, with a mix of hill work and tempo flat work will begin to get you to where you want to be. It takes many months and years of riding to get your self to that level of fitness that you aspire to.
