i'm not kidding about the 5,247km. about 4,200km of that was on the front wheel. when i retired the rear tyre (a 12mm cut diagonally across the tyre), the front tyre moved to the rear. and there is still plenty of tread left. i'm quite surprised at the different rate of wear between front and rear.
