Where we diverge is the idea that motorist rage is generally based on cyclists adherence to traffic laws. Every cyclist on the planet could suddenly become a traffic angel and the me first drivers would still complain about cyclists using "their" roads.
The fact is that cyclists are simply a microcosm of society in general. Cyclists are no more or less likely to break laws than drivers or pedestrians are. We are no better or worse than anyone else.
A city near Seattle recently installed a red light camera with all the normal media coverage letting drivers know where the camera was. After a month of this media coverage, the city began tracking red light runners. They were nabbing 100 per day. The city decided to delay enforcement awhile longer so that "drivers could learn where the camera was." Personally, I think it would be better if drivers learned to stop for red lights, but that's just me...
im sure there are just as many if not more that are ticked by the action.
You know, there are a lot of things that some of my fellow citizens do that tick me off. Guess what - I get over it....
Give me convenience or give me death! The New Anti CM motto....
wow you guys have got to stop reading one thing and not the other. It really shows how blind sited you guys really are because Im beginning to make the same points twice.
Look...If you obeyed every law...then the motorist will be ticked but they will have no choice but to be pissed at the city (not bikers) for not making better roads. Im assuming that you understand what im trying to get at, but if you dont just ask and ill explain....again
cyclists are no more or less likely to break the law than a car? You cant be serious...you dont sound like youve ever driven a car. And dont give me that drivers are the ones who should learn to stop at redlights bull**** because they do and if they dont theyll get fined. Maybe law enforcers should be just as strict to cyclists about traffic laws...nah you wouldnt want that...
You know, there are a lot of things that some of my fellow citizens do that tick me off. Guess what - I get over it....
really? because if thats how you all think there wouldnt be a cmass anymore...so thats good advice you should give to your fellow cmassers...oh man that car almost hit me...why is that car on the bike lane?...watch out for that door!...GET OVER IT! Im not supporting this but this is what youre trying to imply. inconsistency is a trait cmassers will always have huh?
give me convience or give me death? rofl trust me youre not causing me any inconvience because i dont drive anymore. Ill say this again...I like what you guys are doing, but i dont like how you guys are doing it. that is my biggest beef with cmassers. Hey it would be awesome to see more riders than drivers but im not gonna go around blowing up cars.
