Bikes: Iron Monkey: a junkyard steel 26" slick-tired city bike. Grey Fox: A Trek 7x00 frame, painted, with everything built, from spokes up. Jet Jaguar: A 92 Cannondale R900 frame, powder coated matte black with red and aluminum highlights.

AH. Yes. That number makes more sense.

I'd like to point out that there are a couple of places you might be able to increase efficiency:
  • Get skinnier, higher pressure tires. Those look pretty good, but if you can get tires around 100 psi, you'll have less touching the road.
  • Your bike is pretty heavy. As cool as those bikes are, a road bike with a triple chainring will probably weigh 7 to 10 pounds less. (Obviously, that's an expensive solution, but it would help a lot. Also, see 1, above.
  • Make sure the kids' tires are slicks at their maximum pressure.
  • Make sure you're not carrying extra stuff in the trailer. Extra board books and sippy cups add up!
  • Don't carry more than *you* have to. Take water and a wallet. Pants are optional.

How does that Triobike thing turn?
