Those are both low end bikes from the 1970s. They have frictiion shifters up on the stem which is awkward to operate from the drops. For bikes from that era, downtube shifters are much easier to work from the drops. They wouldnt be any faster than your hybrid except in headwinds. You could get in a more streamlined position on your hybrid by lowering the bar a bit and fitting thinner tires, and also maybe fitting a longer stem. Bar ends set low could give you a riding position similar to the hoods of a drop bar.
