If you didn't also learn from youtube to buy a truing stand and properly true the wheel, all you did was stop it from rubbing the brakes. The LBS could have done that in seconds, what they planned to do instead was a professional job and 'true' your wheel, hence the extended timeframe. Watch the entire video or look for an update on youtube.
