I ask the repair guy if he can true my rim for me.

"You'll have to leave it with us."
I say "OK, when can I come back and pick it up?"
"Thursday, we're backed up with repairs here."

I leave with my wheel, check Youtube and learn how to true a wheel, buy a spoke wrench from a different bike store for a rip-off $10 price, and set to truing my wheel. 15 minutes later, it's nice and wobble free.

If I can learn how and true a wheel in 15 minutes, it would have taken a real repair guy what, 5 minutes? Now the LBS lost a customer forever. And that second LBS also lost me for doubling the price of a wrench.

This is why I don't support my LBS. Rant off!
Nice work Andy...same type of thing happened to me. Now I build/true all of my wheels.
