The LBS in my neighborhood sponsors the local bike club. If you are a member of the club and need repairs, you go to the front of the line, if not, you are on the B list and will get your work done when they have time. I'm not in the club so they took 3 weeks to tune up the Spec FSR XC Comp I bought there.

But they do great work and are totally worth it.
