Some Centurions were pretty good bikes. It's not a commonly-known brand name nowadays, so some people might not realize what they are throwing away. A Free Spirit on the other hand was a piece of department store garbage then, and it still is. Might not be a bad "commuter" though. Many people, including me, think the people who commute on new Madones and Roubaix's must be nuts or have way too much money to spend.
