I called the LBS today and Trek actually sent a 2.3 frame and fork (my mistake) so I'd be able to have a matching color scheme. I think the reselling point is a good one. The only thing is that if I want the 2.1 frame I'll have to wait for all the shipping turn around.
Take the 2.3.
Any other reasons aside, you'd be missing valuable summer ride time waiting for the turnaround.
(Trek may well have done it on purpose if they were short frames w/ 2.1 paint)
