Was there any suggestions on what riders were supposed to do when asked to leave the course? Was there a sag vehicle taking riders and their bikes back to the start? Hopefully they didn't expect riders to just stand in the ditch and call for a ride.

I think the suggestion would be to ride faster... Not to be cocky (because I was for sure hurting), but I finished the full 100 miles about 30 minutes before the storm line rolled through and that was on my fixed gear ride.
But good Lord, that last 20 miles, into the wind, uphill... was just brutal.
