Wheel Lacing Question!

I've searched over and over for this topic but can hardly find any information on it. I bought a rear hub a week or so ago, got my rims in yesterday and ordered my front hub tonight so I'm about ready to start building this wheelset. I want to do something new this time so I've been checking out the 2 leading 2 trailing (2l2t) pattern. Everything is fine and dandy but since there's really a lack of pictures and information out there I can't quite figure out the best way to weave the spokes.

I saw a picture and read of a guy that had his leading and trailing laced so that they didn't weave at all and he said that he had problems with the tension. Terminal Velocity has a little more information on 3 leading 3 trailing and how he believes best to weave the spokes, but there was nothing similar for 2l2t. Has anyone built a wheel like this? I'd like to start building soon and I don't want to waste a bunch of time lacing the thing up and then having the tension go out of true too easily.

My accompanying question would be: do you think that this pattern would be strong enough on a rear wheel? Specifically a fixed gear? I'd be fine doing 2l2t for the front and 3x for the back, but 2l2t on both would look sweet, in my opinion.

Thanks for the help.

Calvin.
