NOTE: here's a summary:



To each his own, but ... if you KNOW what you're doing (the right size/torque range wrench, used properly, and NOT relied on to be most accurate near the bottom/top of its range), and understand how to properly clean/lube fasteners, I don't see a lot of downside in using a torque wrench.

That said, it can certainly be WORSE to use a torque wrench IMPROPERLY than to not use one at all.

But isn't that true of most things mechanical?
