You can make them really sweet, if you add a lot of sugar. But most of the raspberry pies I've had have been pretty tart. Raspberries are much less sweet than strawberries.

I've had raspberry pie, raspberry tarts, raspberry scones, raspberry cobbler, and more. Why I even have a nice raspberry patch in my back yard. I love fresh raspberries sprinkled on granola, yogurt, and ice cream.
