wooden rims

hi everyone. i'm throwing this one out for the approval of the midnight society: what do you think about wooden rims on the street? they are so motherf-ing cool to me...the grain, the old-schooliness, the possibility of total catastrophic failure, the smooth (i've heard) ride...i was wondering a couple things... #1-does anyone still make them (as in mass-produce...)? i've read a couple web pages about a guy who hand laminates them. and i've searched the forums and not come up with much. #2-how much would you trust some old used ones from ebay? #3-does anyone on the forum ride them? #4- how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood rims? #5-i guess that's it. p.s. the real reason i want them is to pull flaming skids. haha "flaming skids" ok thanks in advance
