I just got an IRD Cadence Aero wheel polished at a powdercoating/anodizing shop. It's so damn shiney I can see my face in the reflection... it doesn't cost too much to get them polished if you don't want to do it yourself. I went the professional route because I didn't have any suitable place in my living space to fool around with lye for the deanodizing, and realized buying the stuff I needed would cost just about as much as having someone else do it.
Just wade through eBay for NOS box rims from the 80's/earlier, then get it polished. I bet it wouldn't be hard to find some Araya clinchers that are like the Reds.
