+1 on all the above I stash stuff at the office (clothes, deodorant, wet wipes, cologne, etc etc). I also keep some extra water in the fridge and energy bars/gels for a quick recovery once I get in.

You can limit the amount of sweat and stank by leaving early enough so you don't need to rush - then, use an easy gear and ride at a low intensity. Sure, it's not an optimal workout, but who cares? Your main goals for commuting should be getting to work, on time, and in one piece. Save the Lance workouts for weekends or evenings, in a safe less-trafficked zone if possible. Rush hour traffic ain't it....
