1. What type of bikes do 50+ folks ride?
”I” currently ride a road race spec 2007 Motobecane Le Champion equiped with SRAM Force components and Richey WCS wheels & cockpit. I have owned many, many bikes, mostly road, a few ATB bikes(all hard-tail), a few shop-rat bikes and some cruisers.
2. Do you take any special supplements/vitamins/minerals as you have grown older?
I currently work in the natural/organic foods industry. I eat extremely well and take natural supplements/herbs/homeopathic as needed…especially as I entered my 40’s.
3. How much do you feel you have "slowed down" if any?
Mentally not as competition focused. Physically I heal slower and require more recovery time. I do not compete any longer. I ride for fun, health and site-see a lot more.
4. How long have you been biking? New, around a while, biked all your life?
I have been riding bikes seriously on/off for approx 36 years, 90% road 10% off road. This includes road racing, managing bike shops, misc R&D and working for various companies in the industry. I am very new to Web bike forums (Fall-07).
5. What type of biking do you do? Long rides, touring, short rec rides, commute, tour, race?
At present Short to long depending on schedule. Tooling around with my lady to be with her, the air and nature. I like to ride fast, climbing is my real passion...as are fast descents.
6. How often do you bike? Your approximate annual mileage?
Varies tremendously day to day, week to week. Used to rack up huge miles, not so anymore, at least for now. Roads stink in my area, have to drive to good riding.
7. Do you do any other type of physical activities - weight lifting, skiing, running, etc.?
Alpine skiing for 30+ years, rock climbing, hiking, camping, martial arts for 20+ years (numerous disciplines), gym workouts, pilates, yoga.
