I would recommend putting the bikes in the car and head out to Skyline Drive in Shennendoah National Park. Its probably a 40 minute drive but well worth it. One of the nicest cycling routes in the East.

That sounds like a fantastic idea, actually. What's the profile like? I'd probably like to do a 2-3 hour ride, if I'm investing the time to go out there. I'm hoping it's mostly uphill on the way out and downhill coming back north?
