That's exactly what I'm worried about...something goofy like not being able to tweak the STI or the front derailler with Shimano to prevent chain rub!!!!
I'm going back to a double on one of my bikes. There is some additional chain rub since for instance the 52 is farther off the center chain line. You can cross the chain only so far before it starts to grind. Also I've found shifting a little trickier, dropping from the 42 on some shifts from the 52. Operator error is also an annoying problem with mis-shifts.
