Bikes: 1959 Helyett T de France Reynolds 531

Personal: Age 66. Ht 5"-9". WT 164 lbs. RHR 48.
Bike: 1959 Helyett Cycles Reynolds 531 Jacques Anquetil autograph Tour de France. Original wheels/chainset/stem/bars/brakes. Old Simplex stuff upgraded to Suntour gears with downtube shifters about 1980. Sedis chain. Toeclips. Half-step gearing.
Drugs: Yep. Predisone to control the dreaded PMR.
Performance: Use lower gears than of old.
Recent cycling: Miniscule. Was racing catamarans for 12 years.
Present cycling: Time on the bike is what counts. Aim at 2 hrs/day 6 days a week. Never on a Sunday (walk to recover). Love the hill work, but concentrate on fast spinning on the flat .
