Deviating from the map is where it's at!

I did the same thing on Friday turning a 43 mile route into a 50 mile route up there and discovered a sweet freshly paved road on the northeast corner of the 200k HHH route map. Where the HHH does a right on Spring Valley, I took a left on Schuman Road. Pure fresh pavement for a few miles of climbing. Not an epic hill, but the pavement made it spectacular. It's on the third stage of the HHH 200k map.

The HHH only goes up Observatory until it turns right on Barlow, so many folks don't know that continuing east up Observatory is quite a climb in and of itself. Not as steep maybe as the short climb heading west, but it is longer and needs a good steady pace set.

Way to go heading up there! It's far away, but oh so worth the trip.
