check out Icebike ( ww.icebike.com ). Hot liquids do help, and there are a number of thermos that will fit. It's hard to beat the price of this one (

That means layering, it means blocking wind, and it means doing a lot of adding and subtracting layers to avoid either a lot of sweating or a lot of shivering. If you've ever downhill skiied, you can use those gloves. Feet are the worst problem. I'm still looking for a good solution there.
